Strategic Transformations
(formerly Training and Consulting Services)

Strategic Transformations (formerly known as Training and Consulting Services) is United Way of Peel Region’s (UWPR) program dedicated to providing capacity-building opportunities to the Peel non-profit sector that supports their goal of positive community impact. Capacity building is developing the ability to act with knowledge, achieve results and effect change.

The Strategic Transformations program values: community empowerment, sustainable and measurable change, positive community impact, and social innovation. Implementing these values is central to all of our services.

SPEAK TO THE EXPERTS FORUM
The Speak to the Experts forum is a virtual communication platform where agency staff members and volunteers can post their challenges and have experts reply in a timely manner.

This is an online consultation service, reinforcing organizations’ knowledge with that of an expert’s, especially during times of crisis, therefore contributing to building a more resilient human services sector.

Log on at www.unitedwaypeel.org. Participants must register online through www.unitedwaypeel.org to join the Speak to the Experts forum. This section is currently under construction.

The Strengthening Organizational Effectiveness Fund is a capacity building tool that is available to eligible organizations. Organizations who have completed the organizational capacity self assessment tool are eligible to apply for financial assistance to aid with the costs of implementing their capacity building plan. This grant program is a component of an overall strategy to assist agencies in Peel to enhance their organizational capacity.

Jointly funded by the United Way of Peel Region and the Region of Peel, funding is awarded four (4) times a year with a maximum allocation of $20,000.00 per grant:

  • January 2
  • April 1
  • July 2
  • October 1

Organizations may be funded for a second phase subject to the successful completion of phase one project outcomes and a clear demonstration of organizational enhancement as a result. However, priority will be given to first time phase one applicants.
