Hundreds of organizations and thousands of volunteers like you make the annual United Way campaign possible. United Way Spirit Awards recognize exceptional commitment, leadership and creativity. The 2014 Spirit Award winners will be announced on March 5, 2015 at the Community Achievement Celebration.

2013 Spirit Award Winners

Welcome to United Way Campaign Award
This award recognizes new workplace campaigns that have vitality, excitement, involvement and excellent communication. Workplaces that have not run a campaign in two years are also eligible.

Outstanding Agency Campaign Award
This award is presented to agency employee campaigns that have remarkable participation and promote giving to the Community Fund. It is awarded to both funded and non-funded agencies. This award is presented in three categories based on organizational size.

Outstanding Corporate Campaign Award
This award is presented to organizations that excel in the many areas of corporate support for United Way. This award is presented in three categories based on organizational size.

Best National Campaign Award
This award is presented to an outstanding employee campaign that was conducted at multiple locations, including a site located outside of Peel Region.

Leading the Way Campaign Award
The Leading the Way Award is presented to a team that organized an impressive Leadership Giving Campaign that motivated their peers to contribute personal gifts of $1,000 or more.

Labour Award of Distinction
The Labour Award of Distinction is presented to a workplace and its union members that have demonstrated a commitment to community and to furthering the values shared by United Way and the Labour Movement. It is awarded in both the private and public sector in three categories based on organizational size.

Speakers Bureau Award
This award recognizes a dynamic speaker whose personal story captivates, inspires and motivates audiences to engage with United Way. It is awarded to a member of the Speakers Bureau made up of employees, volunteers and clients of United Way funded agencies.

Employee Campaign Chair of the Year Award
The ECC of the Year award is presented to Employee Campaign Chairs who have run an inspirational campaign. Winning ECCs will have used creativity, enthusiasm, leadership skills and strategic thinking to run an exceptional campaign. This award is presented in three categories based on organizational size.

Outstanding Employee Campaign

2013 Submission Guidelines

Nominees may apply for all awards for which they are eligible. Campaigns can be nominated by the Employee Campaign Chair and/or committee. Your United Way staff partner can provide you with nomination forms and assist you where needed.

All applications are to be received at the United Way of Peel Region office by Friday, December 6, 2013. Winners will be announced at the Community Achievement Celebration on February 6, 2014.
