This is the story of Glen. Glen's life has been changed by a food bank called Knight's Table in Brampton. He overcame homelessness, drug addiction, and the loss of his parents through the support of this United Way of Peel Region supported agency.
In 2011 Damon Pfaff and Marcel DaCosta secured a United Way of Peel Region and Region of Peel, Youth in Action Grant. Their idea was to give the youth of Peel a chance. A chance to be all that they could be through B Boy dancing. This is the RHYTHM project.
Now, in their second year, and with a second consecutive grant, their aim is to take the RHYTHM project to all new heights and give more youth access to this art form.
The Fish Project was a one day workshop targeting high school students in Peel Region regarding the issues of youth action and philanthropy.
This initiative revolves around the ancient idea: “give a man a fish and he eats for a day; teach a man to fish and he eats for a lifetime.” Good Movement, along with our granters United Way of Peel Region, The Region of Peel and our sponsoring organization Rapport Youth & Family Services collaborated to give a truly unique experience to a few lucky high school students, giving them the tools they needed to make a difference in their community.

Employees from Edward Jones, E.I. duPont Canada Company and Baxter Corporation rolled up their sleeves to spring-clean and grocery shop for these seniors.
