Couple and Family Counsellor, Spanish Speaking

Catholic Family Services Peel-Dufferin (CFSPD) is a dynamic, growing family service agency with offices in Brampton and Mississauga and satellite locations in Bolton and Orangeville. CFSPD is committed to providing a positive work environment for its employees and excellent services to its clients. CFSPD is dedicated to hiring staff that reflect the diversity of our community. At this time we are interested in experienced and creative therapists who can serve the Latin American community. Two evenings per week will be a work requirement.

Responsibilities:

  • Offer individual, couple, family and group counselling sessions in Spanish and English
  • Facilitate a Woman Abuse group in Spanish
  • Provide single-session consultations through our weekly Walk-in clinic
  • Prepare for counselling/group sessions, complete clinical reports and review client progress
  • Collaborate with other community agencies and partners to coordinate services
  • Attend supervision and agency meetings as required
  • Comply with all agency policies and procedures

Qualifications:

  • Masters degree in counselling field
  • Registration with the College of Social Workers & Social Service Workers, The Ontario Association for Marriage and Family Therapy or equivalent
  • Minimum two years experience providing family, couple, group and individual counselling; comfortable working with children
  • Thorough knowledge of trauma counselling strategies
  • Knowledge and expertise in working with Latin American communities; fluent in Spanish
  • Strong skills in couple and family therapy
  • Knowledge of Catholic faith and traditions 0 Excellent clinical documentation and computer skills
  • Commitment to a pro-feminist anti-oppression framework
  • Valid Driver's license and access to a vehicle
