Number of Volunteers Required: 3
Purpose:
- To act as a resource on community needs, community assets and best practices for the not for profit sector
- To provide leadership and direction to United Way of Peel Region’s policies regarding resource distribution, capacity building and community building initiatives
- To contribute to the development of United Way of Peel Region’s strategic planning process and ensure community investment plans are aligned with overall organizational strategic directions
- To provide input into United Way's community investment strategies and annual investment plan to guide resource distribution, capacity building and community building initiatives
- To monitor and evaluate the investment plan• To manage risk and/or identify situations that might pose potential risk to United Way of Peel Region
Time Commitment:
- 4-6 Cabinet meetings per year x 2 hours, plus 1 hour of preparation time
- Occasional attendance at agency AGMs and United Way functions (up to 4-6 times per year)
- Term of 1 year, renewable up to 4 years
Activities and Tasks:
- To review issues and trends facing the human services sector and support development of appropriate community investment strategiesTo review and recommend community investment policies to United Way of Peel Region’s Board of Directors as appropriateTo annually develop, monitor and evaluate an investment planTo annually review Community Priorities Fund recommendations from the Allocations committee & prepare them for board approvalTo prepare regular reports to the Board, and review funding investments made in the Community Contingency Fund, Community Response Fund, Community Initiatives and Strengthening Organizational Effectiveness Fund as per the Community Investment policy
