Leadership Giving (donations of $1,000 or more)

Leaders are individual donors who demonstrate their commitment and social responsibility with contributions of $1,000 or more to United Way. When you give a Leadership gift you are making a personal investment that reflects your desire and commitment to helping others in need. You are also setting an example to motivate others to give at similar levels. You join a select group of generous donors who are committed to building strong, healthy communities.

Your Leadership gift to United Way goes far by supporting the combined efforts of a network of programs and services. This network provides the most comprehensive support for an individual or family in need, and helps solve a range of community-wide problems.

2011 PepsiCo Canada Leadership Challenge Grant

Thanks to a $100,000 matching grant sponsored jointly by PepsiCo Beverages Canada and PepsiCo Foods Canada, your gift can go twice as far in 2011!

The 2011 PepsiCo Canada Leadership Challenge Grant will provide matching funds for new or increased gifts of $1,000 or more to United Way’s Community Fund. A total of $100,000 in matching funds is available through this grant opportunity.

Here’s how the Challenge Grant works:

For first-time Leadership donors
Your gift of $1,000 or more will be matched dollar-for-dollar.

For current Leadership donors
When you increase your gift by 10% or more over last year’s donation, the amount of your increase will be matched dollar for dollar. For example, if you gave $1,000 in 2010 and increase your gift to $1,500 in 2011, United Way will receive an additional $500 through the Challenge Grant.

The Benefits of Leadership Giving

While giving can be its own reward and "benefits" may not be expected, a gift of $1,000 or more each year qualifies you for the following special opportunities:

  • Personal invitations to United Way's Campaign Kick-off and Community Achievement Celebration
  • Automatic membership in the United Way of Peel Region, with voting privileges at our Annual General Meeting
  • Recognition of your gift in one of our annual publications (with your permission)
  • Timely issue of tax receipt with acknowledgment of gift
